Honours of Scotland is included with all Edinburgh Castle tickets. No separate ticket is needed. You’ll usually reach it midway through the castle visit in the Royal Palace at Crown Square, after the initial uphill walk from the main gate. Book an early castle slot or a guided castle visit so you reach the Crown Room before the line grows and still have time to look closely.

Best tickets to experience Honours of Scotland

For more than 500 years, the Honours of Scotland have marked coronations, parliaments, and royal authority. The crown was remade for James V in 1540, while the sword and sceptre served state ceremony until the 1707 Union, when the regalia were locked away and forgotten until 1818. Today they are displayed as national treasures, and the Stone of Destiny still leaves Edinburgh for British coronations.
